Anesthesia Machine Checklist

The Anaesthetic Machine Checklist is a structured safety control tool used to verify that the anesthesia workstation is fully operational and safe prior to use. It ensures that all critical systems—gas supply, ventilation, monitoring, and emergency support—are functioning correctly and meet clinical safety requirements.

The checklist covers the complete pre-use workflow: power and system initialization, gas supply verification (oxygen, air, nitrous oxide), vaporizer configuration, breathing circuit integrity, leak testing, ventilator performance, and monitoring systems. It also includes validation of alarms, scavenging systems, suction, and availability of emergency airway equipment.

In TARGPatrol, the checklist is executed through a mobile application with structured inputs, numeric validation, and photo evidence. This eliminates manual logging errors, provides real-time visibility into equipment readiness, and ensures full traceability of checks and corrective actions.
