Daily Equipment Inspection Checklist
An Equipment Inspection Checklist for Manufacturing turns “look it over” into a clear, repeatable routine that operators and maintenance can follow the same way every shift. It starts with safety and compliance — guards and interlocks in place, e-stops tested, SOPs available, open work orders noted — so the line is safe to start before anyone hits “Run.”
A short test run closes the loop: dry cycle, verify cycle time, produce a first part, and confirm appearance/critical functions. Any odd noises, hot spots, or alarms are captured with a quick note, meter reading, or photo so issues can become planned maintenance instead of unplanned downtime.
Use whatever format fits your floor. Print the PDF for clipboards and low-tech areas, or run a mobile version to time-stamp checks, attach photos of nameplates and gauges, and trigger work orders when something fails a check. Review and update the checklist with PM intervals, new sensors, or changed spec limits each quarter. A short, current checklist keeps machines safe, predictable, and ready to meet production targets.
